What It’s About (Spoiler Alert)
Trevelyan is gone. After her grandmother’s attack leaves the estate destroyed and the Albion Pack scattered and diminished, Cordelia and Bishop — now married — have to figure out how to rebuild from nothing. That means seeking out alliances with other packs, each led by an Alpha with his own agenda, all while trying to defeat the cabal responsible for tearing their home apart. Cordelia is also settling into her role at Bishop’s side, balancing her growing power with the reality that surviving this might cost them everything they just started to build together.
What Got Me Hooked
Cordelia isn’t the same woman who got dragged to Trevelyan in book one — she’s stepping fully into her power here, and watching that confidence develop is one of the best parts of this installment. Her relationship with Bishop is still one of the strongest parts of the series too; their communication and chemistry hold up even under pressure, and the “we’re in this together” dynamic between them lands harder now that they’ve actually got something to lose.
The world also expands significantly in this book. New packs, new characters, and constant political maneuvering keep the stakes high, and Archer doesn’t shy away from twists, betrayals, and bargains that come with real consequences.
And that ending — no spoilers, but I closed the book and immediately texted three people asking if they’d read it yet.
Should You Read It?
If you’re into Victorian romantasy, witches and werewolves, pack politics, a devoted Alpha, a heroine coming into her own, and a spicy slow-burn romance, this one belongs on your TBR. A note before you dive in: it includes violence, death, family conflict, supernatural threats, emotional manipulation, and darker themes.

About the Author
Kaylee Archer made her debut with Witch of the Wolves, the first book in this series. By her own account, she grew up on stories of werewolves and witches, and when she ran out of books to read about them, she started writing her own — eventually deciding, as she puts it, that the werewolves and witches in her stories should stop only killing each other and start kissing too. (They still do plenty of killing, for the record.) The Wolf Queen’s Curse is the second installment in the series, continuing Cordelia and Bishop’s story as the Albion Pack fights to survive.
